A striking, late-century, Italian, lapis lazuli ring, modeled in 14k yellow gold, whose shoulders are decorated with a pair of voluptuous spirals. These spiral forms are "lifted" off the ring shank— they havesoft, curved edges, and they terminate in a series of wing-like bars or hashes. These combined formsremind us of the wings on the shoes of greek god Hermes, but they might also be meant to recall a ram's horns. They flank the ring'svibrant,clear-blue lapis lazuli cabochon, which is set in a smooth, low-profile bezel. This lapis is heavily flecked with golden pyrite on one side, near the bezel. We love this ring for it's clean lines and bold graphic quality! It has a broad, flat shank. This ring is marked for Italy, with a maker's cartouche, and with 14k for purity.
